Jeffrey Carter Albrecht , who was the keyboard player in Edie Brickell & New Bohemian was shot dead by the neighbor of his girlfriend. He got shot when he tried to kick the door in of his girlfriend’s neighbor. The neighbor was asleep when he woke up around 4 a.m. that someone was breaking into the house. The neighbor then yelled through the door and told Jeffrey Carter Albrecht to leave, and then fired his handgun through the door and struck Jeffrey Carter Albrecht in the head. He died almost instantly. Edie Brickell & New Bohemian are most famous for the song "What I Am" from 1989.
